Depth Chart Maker: Build a Depth Chart from Your Roster

Depth charts show who starts at each position and who the backups are. Bravara's depth chart maker builds the chart from your team roster, so player names stay up to date. Depth charts are free and are on the web.

Which sports have depth charts

Football, flag football, baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Teams in other sports do not see Depth charts in the menu.

Where to find depth charts

On the web, in the coach menu under Coach tools, click Depth charts. On a phone browser, tap More, then Depth charts. Depth charts are not in the mobile app yet.

Make a depth chart

1. Click New depth chart. The first time, the button says Make your first depth chart.
2. Enter a Name. For sports with more than one unit, check the Units you want, then click Create.
3. Drag players from the Players list onto a spot. You can also tap a player and then tap a spot.
4. To take someone off, drag them back to the list.

The columns are Starter, 2nd, 3rd, and so on. Each position can be made deeper or shallower. The strip at the top tells you what is missing, such as a position with no starter, no backup, or a player who starts twice.

Units by sport

• Football: Offense, Defense (4-3 or 3-4), Special Teams.
• Flag football: Offense and Defense for 5v5 or 7v7.
• Baseball: Position Players and Pitching Staff.
• Softball: Position Players (with DP and FLEX) and Pitching Circle.
• Soccer: 4-4-2, 4-3-3, or 3-5-2.
• Basketball: Rotation (PG, SG, SF, PF, C).
• Volleyball: Lineup.

Players who are not on your roster

Tap an empty spot and type a new name. Choose Add to roster to add them to your team, or Add as guest to keep them on this chart only. A guest can be matched to a roster player later.

Print, PDF, and other exports

The chart saves by itself. Use Print or PDF at the top. Under More actions you can save a unit as an image, Download CSV, Duplicate, or Delete. Click Details to set the printed title, the season or game, and notes.

Who can see a depth chart

Depth charts belong to the team. Every coach and staff member on your team sees and can edit the same charts. Players and parents cannot see them in Bravara. To show players, print the chart or send the PDF.

Common questions

I made a depth chart on bravara.com. Can I save it? Yes. In the free depth chart maker at bravara.com/depth-chart-maker, click Save to my account. After you sign in, Bravara matches the names to your roster and asks what to do with any it cannot match.

What happens if a player leaves the team? Their spot on the chart shows that they are no longer on the team, so you can fill it.

Can I keep a different chart for each game? Yes. Use Duplicate and change the copy.
