Understanding Evaluation Numbers in Bravara

Modified on Tue, 11 Mar at 2:25 AM

Evaluation numbers are automatically assigned to each player once you start the evaluation process in Bravara. Here's how it works:

Auto-Generated Evaluation Numbers

When you're ready to start evaluations, Bravara lets you choose the starting evaluation number. Let's say you're working with the Majors division and want to start evaluations from 1000. Players will be sorted by last name automatically. So, if your first player's name is John Adams, he'll be assigned evaluation number 1000. The next player, perhaps Jane Brown, will get 1001, and so on through your entire list.

Bravara also adds a dash followed by the player's league age (like 1000-12). This way, just by looking at the evaluation number, you instantly know the player's age.

Importing Your Own Evaluation Numbers

If you prefer using custom evaluation numbers, Bravara makes that easy too. Simply add a column labeled "evaluation number" (or something similar) to your CSV import file. Bravara will use these custom numbers instead of auto-generating them. Keep in mind, every time you upload a CSV with evaluation numbers, it becomes your new "source of truth." For example, if John Smith originally had evaluation number 101 but you change it to 107 in a new import, Bravara will update his evaluation number to 107.

Resetting Evaluation Numbers

Sometimes you might add new players after evaluations have started. By default, Bravara places these new players at the end of your list. If you'd like to re-sort the evaluation numbers alphabetically again, simply use the "Reset Evaluation Numbers" feature. This will reorder all players alphabetically by last name using Bravara's default numbering system.

Important note: If you're using your own imported evaluation numbers, avoid using the reset feature, as it will overwrite your custom numbers with Bravara's defaults.
