Grouping players by age in the evaluation planner
When you use Bravara's Evaluation planner (accessed by going to Evaluations and choosing Schedule evaluations), the planner automatically assigns players to time-slot groups. Understanding how that assignment works can help you get age-based groups if that matters for your league.
How the planner assigns players to groups
The planner takes all evaluated players in a division, sorts them by their evaluation number, and splits them evenly across the groups you've set up. Player age does not directly control which group a player lands in — the sort order comes from the evaluation number format you're using.
Getting age-based groups using the "League Age-Number" format
Bravara offers a League Age-Number evaluation ID format (for example, 12-1, 12-2, 11-3, 11-4...). When this format is active, evaluation numbers begin with the player's league age, so the planner's automatic sort naturally places players of the same age together in the same group.
To use this approach:
- In the web app, go to Settings in the left navigation.
- Scroll to the Evaluation IDs section and switch the format to League Age-Number.
- On the Players page, use Reset Evaluation Numbers so existing players get numbers in the new format.
- When you open the Evaluation planner, players will be sorted by age first, and the groups will reflect that order.
Note: The League Age-Number format is available on Pro and Elite plans.
Using separate divisions as a simpler alternative
If your league already separates players into age-specific divisions (for example, a 10U division, an 11U division, and a 12U division), each division gets its own scheduling block in the planner. All players in that division will receive the same time window, which naturally keeps age groups together without any format changes.
If your divisions currently span multiple ages, you can split them into per-age divisions before starting evaluations to get this effect.
Can I manually control who goes in each group?
The planner does not currently offer a way to drag and drop individual players between groups before scheduling. Player assignments are generated automatically based on evaluation number order and can be previewed before sending, but cannot be edited group by group inside the planner.
