Import Volunteers into Bravara

This article shows how to import volunteers into Bravara from a CSV file. Use this when you have a list of head coaches, assistant coaches, managers, evaluators, or other volunteers that you want to add to a division.

Before you start

• Open the season and division you want to work in.
• Export your volunteer list as a CSV from your registration system.
• For the best results, use the original export without edits.
• Include first name, last name, role, and email when those fields are available.

Import volunteers

1. Open Volunteers from the main navigation.
2. Above the volunteers table, click Import.
3. In the Import volunteers dialog, use the upload area labeled Drop file here or click to upload.
4. Select your CSV file. Bravara reviews the file and shows the column matching step.
5. Review the matched columns. Make sure names, emails, roles, divisions, and teams are connected to the right Bravara fields when those columns are in your file.
6. Click Next.
7. If Bravara shows possible guardian or person matches, review the matches and click Next.
8. Review the import preview, then click Start importing.
9. When the import finishes, click Close.

What Bravara can do during the import

• Bravara checks name and email to avoid creating duplicate people.
• A volunteer can have more than one role across different teams.
• If you import the same volunteer with the same role and team again, Bravara does not create a duplicate assignment.
• If your CSV includes division or team columns, you can connect those columns during import. If it does not, you can assign volunteers to teams later from the Volunteers page.

Examples

• If your CSV has one row for Jane Smith as Head Coach on 10U Blue and another row for Jane Smith as Evaluator, Bravara can keep both roles connected to the same person.
• If you re-import the full volunteer list after late signups, Bravara imports the new volunteers and updates changed information while skipping unchanged rows.
