Chat Notifications, Replies, Attachments, and Search

Chat has tools to help people keep up without losing important messages.

Change notification settings for a channel

1. Open Chat.
2. Click the channel.
3. In the top-right area of the channel header, click the bell icon.
4. Choose the notification setting you want.

If the menu shows Enable browser notifications, click it if you want desktop notifications from your browser.

Read replies

Replies keep one topic grouped under a message. To see active reply conversations, click Threads in the left side of Chat. To reply to a specific message, hover over the message and choose the reply option.

Add an attachment

1. Open a channel or direct message.
2. Click in the message box at the bottom.
3. Click the attachment button. The tooltip says Add attachment.
4. Choose the file, image, or video from your device.
5. Wait for the upload to finish, then send the message.

If Bravara says to wait for attachments to finish uploading, leave the message open until the attachment is ready.

Search Chat

1. Open Chat.
2. Click the magnifying-glass icon in the top-right area of a channel header.
3. Type a person, channel, or message word.
4. Click a result to open it.

Start a direct message

At the top of the chat list, click the pencil icon to start a new direct message. Search for the person, select them, and send your message.

Unread messages

Unread activity appears as a number or dot next to Chat or next to the conversation. Open the conversation to read the newest messages.
